SFL have just completed the chimney services for the Buri Dubai Lake Hotel, listed as one of the top 40 tallest buildings in the world. Standing at over 306m tall, this 63 floor luxury skyscraper consists of a hotel, serviced apartments, leisure facilities and restaurants. Working in conjunction with Specialist Contractor TPC and Consulting Engineers WS Atkins, SFL were responsible for the manufacture, technical design and delivery of their EUROPA twin wall insulated stainless steel chimney system for the buildings heating, hot water and steam services. The EUROPA chimney system serves two 5,500 Kg/Hr LPG Robey Loos steam boilers. The design required two 500ID flues to run over 100m horizontally within the boiler room and first floor levels following a very complex route. Both flues then entered into a common 750ID manifold before entering into the main services shaft. The 750ID chimney then rises for over 270m before offsetting for a further 30m and continuing vertically for 25m, terminating near the summit of the building.
